About this artwork
The sculpture Convergence I consists of numerous individual wire nails, which are joined together by targeted welding to form a compact, cubic structure. The different orientations and visible cut surfaces of the nails create a multi-layered structure oscillating between order and irregularity.
The freely rotating metal cube, which can be removed from the base, allows for different perspectives on the work and constantly reveals new insights into… its structure.
Thematically, convergence I explores the interplay of individual elements that only form a whole when combined. The diversity of forms and directions coalesces into a unified whole, symbolically representing human life, in which thoughts, feelings, and experiences shape individual personality.
The base made of solid reclaimed pine wood forms a deliberate contrast to the dark metal structure.

Manfred Hellweger
Austria
« I have always been fascinated by abstracting the human body in order to depict it in a simple and elegant form. »
Manfred Hellweger is an Austrian sculptor whose works are already represented by collectors worldwide.
He is particularly known for his minimalist approach, in which he reduces forms to their essential elements.
Hellweger's work embodies the idea that nothing is permanent; everything evolves and changes. Each of his sculptures reflects a deep engagement with the materials and themes he explores.
Despite their simplicity, his works are deeply expressive and, by reducing them to the essentials, offer a metaphor for mindfulness and contentment.
