About this artwork
The steel sculpture consists of many individual wire pins that were connected to each other by targeted welding points and thus unite to form an abstract, human figure. This was drilled into the stone and glued.
Thematically, the sculpture… “Time Hole III” is about numerous myths and legends that surround the caves of the Alps. It is reported that in some mountains so-called time holes exist, in which time passes faster or slower than elsewhere. There are also reports of contacts with time travelers from a mirror world.
The surface of the stone is polished on the front and ground on the sides. The steel sculpture was sealed with matt clear varnish.

« I have always been fascinated by abstracting the human body in order to depict it in a simple and elegant form. »
He is particularly known for his minimalist approach, in which he reduces forms to their essential elements.
Hellweger's work embodies the idea that nothing is permanent; everything evolves and changes. Each of his sculptures reflects a deep engagement with the materials and themes he explores.
Despite their simplicity, his works are deeply expressive and, by reducing them to the essentials, offer a metaphor for mindfulness and contentment.
