With human flow SERIES I, artist Manfred Hellweger presents a series of six sculptures characterized by a reduced formal language. The vertically constructed bodies consist of precisely glued wood veneers in maple, walnut, and mahogany. These precious woods interact in a balanced interplay of color and texture, creating a visual depth that suggests movement and rhythmic structure.
human flow SERIES I is a poetic commentary on the themes of migration,… identity, and collective movement. In this series, Hellweger explores the idea of transformation—whether through external influences or internal processes. The choice of materials—maple for clarity, walnut for depth, mahogany for warmth—underscores the cultural and emotional complexity of the work.
Although conceived as a series, each work nevertheless has its own individual character and is unique in itself.
