About this artwork
The sculpture "human flow CYLLENE" was created through a complex process with wooden strips of different lengths made of maple, oak and mahogany.
The strips were connected to each other in such a way that they taper irregularly towards the bottom and thus create a flowing dynamic. In addition, the artist deliberately created cavities during the gluing process, which make the work appear more translucent and fragile.
"Human flow" was derived from… the aphorism of the Greek natural philosopher Heraclitus of Ephesus: "Pantha rhei" - everything flows.
Just as the water in the stream is always in motion, so all things, living beings and phenomena in the world are always changing.
Everything changes and evolves, nothing stays the same.
"CYLLENE" comes from Greek mythology and is the name of one of the 79 known moons of Jupiter.
The surface of this sculpture is sanded and left natural.
