About this artwork
In my work Marsfeld XCI I create an abstract landscape that is characterized by the balance of chaos and order. The central crater is the focus of the image and is reminiscent of the geological structure of the planet Mars. The surface consists of crushed paint residues that I carefully arrange to create texture and depth.
The work was born out of the idea of transforming old into new: I crushed paint scraps and paint powder from previous projects… and used them to create a new aesthetic. The fine, earthy structures contrast with the vibrant, bright colors of the paint chunks and create a fascinating play of closeness and distance.
Marsfeld XCI is an expression of transformation and renewal – a tribute to the infinite possibilities inherent in artistic work.
