This work is an expressive, original landscape conjured purely from my imagination—not painted from observation.
The original piece began as an oil painting, in which I used various brushes, rags, and implements to manipulate the paint on a slick surface until a scene emerged that conveyed the desired atmosphere. The focus is on the contrast between the dark, textured line of trees and the misty, ethereal sky.
This scene is now being offered as… a limited edition of 5 metallic print-on-demand prints. It is digitally printed on a brushed aluminum sheet, measuring a dramatic 60 inches wide by 30 inches high. The unique texture of the aluminum surface interacts with the image, amplifying the original oil painting’s luminosity and giving the scene a distinct, contemporary, and almost industrial finish. Each print comes ready-to-hang in a silver-finished wood frame. Also available without a frame and with metal standoffs for damp environments.
My artistic practice is the result of a lifelong dialogue with visual structure. After graduating from RISD and spending over three decades as a Design Director for institutions like Harry N. Abrams, Oxford University Press, and Random House, I understand the mechanics of any image—composition, balance, and the hierarchy of visual information.
For my digital print-on-demand works, I maintain a strict 'Studio Stopover' protocol to ensure museum-grade quality. Unlike standard print-on-demand services, these pieces are first shipped to my Connecticut studio for personal inspection.
Each work is examined for color fidelity, hand-signed, and numbered by me personally. I then assemble a custom 'Care Kit' for the collector, including a detailed explanation of the work and a Certificate of Authenticity.
This meticulous process adds approximately 7–10 days to the delivery timeline, but it ensures that the work you receive meets the highest professional standards of the fine art market.
