Paradoxically, although in the developed world we mostly enjoy increasing physical safety this often seems to be associated with a deterioration in mental health. The ubiquity of information and imagery, particularly now through social media, seems to have exacerbated dissatisfaction with ourselves, thwarting self fulfilment and restricting our individual potential.
