About this artwork
The work in question imposes itself on the gaze with a silent and magnetic force, thanks to the central figure of a young veiled woman, who embodies an idea of mystery and contemporary sacredness. The face, wrapped in a black veil, emerges as the only point of intense humanity, with a deep gaze that seems to want to go beyond the limit of representation to directly question the observer. The choice of the veil does not hide, but rather amplifies,… the expressive intensity of the figure, placing the theme of revelation and emotional distance as the central nucleus of the visual narration. A detail full of meaning is the bee perched on the shoulder, intent on climbing the veil: an ancestral symbol of industriousness, sacrifice and, in some cultures, a messenger between worlds, the insect introduces a dynamic tension in the composure of the scene, suggesting a subtle connection between the young woman and nature, between the human and the divine. The background, articulated in horizontal bands, breaks up the staticity
Nicola De Luca, an architect from Naples and an artist born in Torre di Ruggiero, expresses his mastery in drawing. Through precise lines and touches of graphite, De Luca creates female portraits of remarkable intensity. His works emanate an intense and mysterious atmosphere, capturing the essence of the human soul through expressive female faces.
