About this artwork
The work depicts a standing nude female figure, with her body in profile and her head turned towards the viewer. The woman wears a black velvet mask and dark transparent gloves, elements that recall ancient Venetian masquerades. I chose the black velvet mask, typical of Venetian traditions, to add an element of mystery and anonymity to the figure, emphasizing the duality between the exposure of the body and the hidden identity of the face. other hand, I inserted the dark transparent gloves to add a subtle barrier between the viewer and the model, and to amplify the aura of sensuality and refinement. The inspiration from ancient Venetian masquerades is evident and well integrated into the work. These historical events were known for their atmosphere of freedom and transgression, where anonymity allowed the exploration of hidden identities and desires. I tried to capture this essence, transporting the viewer into a world of elegance and seduction.
