About this artwork
The linden blank comes from the inside of an old, gigantic tree. This is the reason for the different tonal values. As with most of the works in the "careful traces of violence" series, the work is impressive due to the interplay of rough, random traces of the largest chainsaw with carefully placed, planned notches and cuts. The tub-like curvature of the object is symmetrically notched on the front and back. The aim is to create the so-called lattice…
openings. This gives the work a wing-like lightness in interaction with the incidence of light.
