About this artwork
The oval, screen-like structure made of oak is a wall object, or rather a reverse-painted glass object, or perhaps a floating XL dreamcatcher weighing approximately 8 kilograms. This intuitively created work exhibits characteristics of my "Hole Sculpture" series, due to the thousands of drilled areas, some created with dental burrs. The oval shape provides a framework for intricate saw cuts and groove milling. The cut and milling marks are deliberately…
placed. Hollow spaces and freely floating "material wings" are the result of the "saw's limits." The most delicate drill holes were placed in the thinnest layers of material. The result is an organic appearance reminiscent of insect wings. Although the work has existed in its current form for several years, it will only be considered finished with my decision to sell it in 2025.
