About this artwork
I used a lot of texture in this painting, letting it crack as it dried, and then applying several thin layers of paint into the recesses. Fine gold leaf is also incorporated. Depending on the light, the abstract landscape shimmers in different colors and reflections. At the same time, the seascape appears very magical and mysterious. For me, this evoked the image of the sunken Atlantis while painting.
The painting was exhibited in solo shows in… Göttingen and Bad Hersfeld in 2023 and at the ARTe art fair in Konstanz in 2024. The sides of the painting are also painted, allowing it to be hung without a frame. The painting is signed and numbered on both the front and back and is ready to hang. The surface of the painting is finished with a UV-protective varnish. A giclée print of the original, in its original size, is available on canvas. Prints in other formats are also possible.
