About this artwork
From the first chapter of my journey, only a few survive — a fleeting chance to begin where it began. From my first collection, The Majestic (2016), spanning 130 works across three continents, only nine remain. This is the largest still available — a rare chance to hold one of the few surviving originals, drawing renewed interest from past collectors.
Majestic Winter emerged from my vision of the forest as a cathedral, where silence and light create… their own architecture. Painted in acrylic and mixed media, it seeks not just to capture snow, but to show how stillness can stretch into infinity. Each tree stands alone yet together, reflecting our search for belonging within solitude.
Though created in 2015, it anticipates the questions that guide my Ipseity series: how identity emerges through nature, silence, and collective presence. Nearly a decade later, it still speaks of origins, memory, and selfhood — the foundation of all that followed.

Working with a knife, his self-taught mastery of Impasto produces surfaces that are sculpturesque, tactile, and alive. Expansive paintings and intimate miniatures share the same driving force, a sense of place that is as much interior as it is geographical. Landscapes and seascapes become the language. Emotion is what they say.
In his seventh decade, Venafro has arrived at Ipseity, absolute selfhood, hard-earned and uncompromising. Drawing from a life in finance before the knife became his primary language, he brings something rare to the canvas. The story he is painting is his emotion. And yours, to discover.
