About this artwork
The term "power blocs" refers to old, rusty and encrusted structures that are in the process of disintegrating, thus no longer offering any prospects. Hope for a better future can be found in the underlying light blue layer, which stands in a still unused or innocent glow. The patina, structure, and color of the raw material testify to transience and are intended to stimulate reflection.
The idea is the juxtaposition of color and structural elements:… a light blue base of glossy lacquer, thus creating a clear surface, contrasts with a restlessly textured rusty surface. The design envisions a geometric arrangement of various rectangular shapes of varying proportions, which form an exciting spatial relationship.
