About this artwork
I created this drawing using blue ink, India ink, and felt-tip pens. I love exploring these nocturnal atmospheres where everything seems calmer, simpler. Here, a mother bear and her three cubs stand beneath a deep sky sprinkled with stars. There's something tender and gentle about it. Yes, a great need for gentleness!
The mother bear, standing upright, seems to watch over her, attentive yet peaceful, while the three cubs appear as curious silhouettes,… half-hidden in the vegetation. The blue brings that soft, slightly unreal atmosphere that often inspires me: a way of suggesting tranquility, the night, and a kind of discreet magic.
For me, the bear is a symbol of protection and quiet strength. Through these four silhouettes, I wanted to convey a reassuring, almost maternal presence, but also the fragile innocence of toddlers in a vast landscape.
The 52 x 25 cm format is the frame size. 300mg watercolor paper.

In my paintings, humans and animals observe and coexist with great curiosity towards one another.
The way people look at you is important. The looks of my many animals, but also the looks of those who contemplate them.
I try to create a bridge, a silent conversation with nature. It is often a suspended and somewhat mysterious moment.
I paint in oil on linen canvas, often in large format, with a predilection for the range of blues.
I also draw, in ink on watercolor paper. "The blue drawings".
This color creates a poetic distance between reality and its representation, between what we look at and what we feel.
My universe was born in childhood: an inner world, populated by free animals, as well as myths.
I seek to tell a story while letting things resonate within you, somewhere between realism and imagination.
