About this artwork
I created this drawing using blue ink, India ink, and felt-tip pens. I enjoy working with strong contrasts: here, the black background highlights the light and the delicate beauty of the flower. The blue, on the other hand, adds a slightly ethereal, almost soothing dimension.
This cactus is a plant that inspires me with its quiet strength. Despite its spines, it offers a fragile and luminous flower, blooming very rarely, like a small miracle. I… wanted to capture this precise, suspended moment, where life asserts itself with simplicity and grace.
The cactus flower symbolizes resilience and beauty that persists despite adversity — a metaphor that particularly resonates with me and that I wanted to express through these shades of blue.
The drawing is framed with a black frame and a white mat, which seems to me to be the best way to showcase it.
The dimensions listed as 40 x 40 cm refer to the frame size. The drawing is on 300mg watercolor paper.

In my paintings, humans and animals observe and coexist with great curiosity towards one another.
The way people look at you is important. The looks of my many animals, but also the looks of those who contemplate them.
I try to create a bridge, a silent conversation with nature. It is often a suspended and somewhat mysterious moment.
I paint in oil on linen canvas, often in large format, with a predilection for the range of blues.
I also draw, in ink on watercolor paper. "The blue drawings".

My universe was born in childhood: an inner world, populated by free animals, as well as myths.
