I look at this work of mine and I completely identify with it: a perfect circle, a blue moon suspended in a dark universe. I wanted to create something both powerful and silent, like an inner call.
I used scraps of blue steel, materials that carry with them a history of transformation, objects that have lived, now regenerated in matter of light and mystery.
The sand and marble dust give the surface a rough, almost lunar texture, which captures… every reflection, every shadow, every imperfection.
In this circle there is balance and depth, as if the moon itself had settled on the canvas to reveal its most intimate side, the one that is never fully seen.
For me, this “Blue Moon” is a symbol of resilience and metamorphosis: metal becomes poetry, and cold, heavy matter becomes a dream.
Silvana Di Vora, a self-taught artist, uses watercolor, acrylic on canvas, and scrap materials to create works brimming with light and movement. She experiments with figurative and abstract art, using rapid brushstrokes and intense monochromes, highlighting the three-dimensionality and luminosity of unexpected details. Her works, often melancholic and dynamic, convey that even from darkness, the most intense light and vibrant color can emerge, instilling vitality and hope in the viewer.
