About this artwork
This work of mine, "Vanity," was born from the desire to give voice to matter, to transform waste into something alive and vibrant. I worked with warm, intense, and contrasting colors—reds, yellows, and burnt earth—that blend together in a dynamic, almost chaotic, yet profoundly vital vortex.
The scraps of metal emerging from the surface lend the composition a material and tactile dimension: sharp fragments, splinters of shavings, small discs that… capture the light and reflect it in ever-changing reflections. They are symbols of a world that consumes and throws away, but which I reclaim here to give new dignity and prominence to the material.
