This work of mine represents a car that has embodied the dreams of many: the legendary and timeless Deux Chevaux. A symbol of freedom, lightness, and authentic life. I chose to reinterpret it using scrap metal, steel, and titanium, to give it a new lease of life, a second existence built on strength and memory.
The three-dimensionality and sheen of the materials create plays of light that enhance its simple yet iconic shapes, transforming it into… an almost sculptural object, suspended between past and present.
For me, this work is not just a tribute to an automotive icon, but a tribute to the 1990s, an era of dreams, authenticity, and ingenuity. Its uniqueness lies precisely in that contrast between raw material and the poetry of memory, an unparalleled beauty that speaks of time, memory, and freedom.
Silvana Di Vora, a self-taught artist, uses watercolor, acrylic on canvas, and scrap materials to create works brimming with light and movement. She experiments with figurative and abstract art, using rapid brushstrokes and intense monochromes, highlighting the three-dimensionality and luminosity of unexpected details. Her works, often melancholic and dynamic, convey that even from darkness, the most intense light and vibrant color can emerge, instilling vitality and hope in the viewer.
