This work of mine depicts the face of Federico Fellini, captured in his iconic gesture with a megaphone in his hands, a symbol of his role as a great director and master of cinema. I wanted to portray him as an icon of Italian cinema, linking his image to the film "8 1/2," one of his most iconic masterpieces, also referenced in the red lettering at the bottom right.
The work is made entirely from scrap mechanical materials, steel and titanium, transformed… and assembled to create a vibrant, textured surface, rich with metallic reflections. I wanted these cold, hard industrial materials to merge with the visionary poetry of his cinema, thus creating a dialogue between craftsmanship, art, and memory.
It is a precious tribute, almost a jewel, dedicated to a genius who knew how to give shape to dreams and the collective imagination.
Silvana Di Vora, a self-taught artist, uses watercolor, acrylic on canvas, and scrap materials to create works brimming with light and movement. She experiments with figurative and abstract art, using rapid brushstrokes and intense monochromes, highlighting the three-dimensionality and luminosity of unexpected details. Her works, often melancholic and dynamic, convey that even from darkness, the most intense light and vibrant color can emerge, instilling vitality and hope in the viewer.
