Fear is a feeling that we try again and again to get away from us, it is like a dance with a partner that we do not want; it is always or we are far away, as separate, although we dance together. This is the reference of this delicate sculpture, its black color tells us about the deep emotions, sensations of the human being. Its forms lead us to that dance, to that dance with ourselves, where it seems that we want to get away from a part of our being,… from our interior. How can you dance with a part that we reject? Perhaps these images that sculpture suggests and recreates encourages us, pushes us, encourages us to open our arms to that part of us that we don't like ... and dance with it.
« Is art the human capacity that allows the perceptions of the soul to be transferred to the senses? »
Teo San Jose is an award-winning Spanish sculptor whose works have been exhibited nationally, as well as in Italy, the United Kingdom, France and America. Specializing in monumental sculpture, he seeks to create ‘spaces of serenity’ within each viewer. San Jose's abstract steel pieces are minimalistic in nature. The simplicity and movement conveyed within his compositions are inspired by Chinese and Japanese calligraphy.
