This sculpture is a poem. In poetry, spaces are emotional, and in this sculpture too. The black color is a reflection of the gaze, a severe and effective cut that allows us to measure and feel the shapes with total precision. The material is steel, flexible, resistant, with that immense capacity to support and give lightness to the structures. It is vertical and above all... it is a reflection on the capacity of the spectator to perceive, to create… or to feel within himself those spaces of Calm and Serenity that make us be at Peace or feel a longing for happiness. It is a work created to generate states of happiness in the spectator, who little by little becomes part of the emotional space of the sculpture... it stops being an external work to become an intimate and warm space...
« Is art the human capacity that allows the perceptions of the soul to be transferred to the senses? »
Teo San Jose is an award-winning Spanish sculptor whose works have been exhibited nationally, as well as in Italy, the United Kingdom, France and America. Specializing in monumental sculpture, he seeks to create ‘spaces of serenity’ within each viewer. San Jose's abstract steel pieces are minimalistic in nature. The simplicity and movement conveyed within his compositions are inspired by Chinese and Japanese calligraphy.
