When you enter the workshop many mornings there is a sort of daze, something that makes us feel confused and we don't know why. That happened when this sculpture was built. It seemed that the steel was looking for something different than what it had thought...Sometimes the best way to find the reading of a sculpture is to stop thinking and work, forging the steel as if we were climbing a mountain of which we cannot see the top. summit because of… the fog...we know it is there and we continue, although sometimes blind...making the sculpture is what the light gives us.
« Is art the human capacity that allows the perceptions of the soul to be transferred to the senses? »
Teo San Jose is an award-winning Spanish sculptor whose works have been exhibited nationally, as well as in Italy, the United Kingdom, France and America. Specializing in monumental sculpture, he seeks to create ‘spaces of serenity’ within each viewer. San Jose's abstract steel pieces are minimalistic in nature. The simplicity and movement conveyed within his compositions are inspired by Chinese and Japanese calligraphy.
