About this artwork
The idea of painting only skies had long fascinated me. With this motif, I love the contrast between the vast sky with its diverse, wild clouds and the strict geometric division created by the overhead lines of a railway. Painting all these shapes and shades of blue in the clouds was particularly exciting. The sky is rendered in two layers of different blue tones.
With this work, I have captured the infinite expanse of the sky to convey a feeling… of freedom and tranquility. The realistic depiction of the clouds and the vibrant blue brings the lightness of the moment directly into the room.
