The working title of the picture was "You don't recognize anyone" at the beginning. You can see 6 young people smoking in an underpass. What exactly is being smoked cannot be seen. The painter knows most of the young people from her other job as a social worker in a financially weak area of Hamburg. She often passed such a scene on her way home through this underpass on her bike. She developed the desire to depict this and asked one of the young…
