About this artwork
This is one of the images on honeycomb cardboard created by the artist Ulla Kutter. Honeycomb cardboard is otherwise used as packaging material and is very stable. The use of this material was deliberately chosen to bring a recycling aspect into the work of art. The picture is well protected by a deep wooden shadow gap frame.
Three young women drink beer in the Hongkong bar in Hamburg St. Pauli. The atmosphere of an old, not very pretty, but popular… bar on the "Hamburger Berg" in St. Pauli was captured. By painting on the honeycomb cardboard, the oil paint was strongly absorbed, so that many brush marks can be seen and the image corresponds atmospherically to the bar.
