About this artwork
This painting, Between Chaos and Calm, was born from a moment when I felt both overwhelmed and deeply centered — like standing at the edge of a storm and watching light break through. I wanted to capture that fragile balance between turbulence and serenity, between what feels uncontrollable and what remains quietly resilient inside us.
Through sweeping layers of blue, gray, and gold, I translated emotional tension into movement and texture — the… chaos of the sky becoming a metaphor for inner transformation. Each stroke carries a sense of breath and release, where destruction turns into renewal. For me, this work is not just about weather or landscape, but about the rhythm of human emotion — how beauty often emerges at the threshold between struggle and peace.

Wei Xue is a self-taught artist with a background in mechanical engineering, working fluidly across painting, sculpture, mixed media, and tactile materials such as linen, burlap, and rice paper.
