About this artwork
In Frozen Dreamlight, I explore the fragile beauty that exists between stillness and transformation. This painting was born from my fascination with the way light moves through frozen landscapes—how it captures silence, emotion, and the invisible rhythm of time. The mountain form represents inner strength and solitude, while the rising light evokes the moment when clarity emerges from quiet reflection.
I wanted to express the sensation of standing… between worlds—the physical and the emotional, the real and the imagined. Through the blending of cool blues, violet tones, and textured surfaces, I sought to create a meditative atmosphere where viewers can feel both peace and awakening. For me, this work is about finding warmth within stillness, and discovering light even in frozen moments of memory.

Wei Xue is a self-taught artist with a background in mechanical engineering, working fluidly across painting, sculpture, mixed media, and tactile materials such as linen, burlap, and rice paper. She employs abstract expressionism infused with surreal, poetic minimalism, favoring layered textures, torn or stitched surfaces, and organic forms inspired by Eastern aesthetics.
