Cordis Custos embodies the inner guardian – the power that protects and preserves the heart. The anatomical heart is enclosed by wing-like forms that simultaneously symbolize protection, strength, and vigilance.
The sculpture was created with multi-layered surfaces, patina effects, and carefully applied layers of paint. The intense red of the heart contrasts with the dark wings, creating a captivating balance between vulnerability and strength.… A golden accent symbolizes the intrinsic value that endures even in times of change.
Cordis Custos is part of my Cordis Obscura series, in which the heart appears as a symbol of protection, memory, and transformation. Each piece is unique and invites the viewer to rediscover the hidden strength of the human heart.
