Redemption Pending is an homage in retrospect – I didn’t realize I was sculpting the inner turmoil of someone I knew until he was nearly finished. The sculpture does not resemble him, and I didn’t use a model; it is an image of what I believed he was feeling. It reflects the idea that you can design your own imprisonment, but not design your escape. The base suggests an open yet precarious balance. I wanted a patina that mimicked cemetery statuary,…
