About this artwork
A few years ago I went out for the first time to the Canadian Pacific coast. We had a few opportunities to venture into the British Columbia rain forests. I had never seen trees of that scale yet - and those only being the left overs! And the green: the deep, opulent, almost mystic Green! The verdent forests, covered completely in moss, every bit of every branch all over. When I returned to the studio this green was still breathing inside me.…
This piece was my first ''breathing out'' of the Green. It is painted on a Roll-Out, an unstretched synthetic canvas with top and bottom pockets for suspension bars. It hangs much like a tapestry. Its advantage is its easy storing and transporting: you just have to roll it up, and then roll it out again.
