About this artwork
The sculpture human nails XXI consists of numerous, carefully welded wire nails, which were then sanded, painted with black, matte acrylic lacquer, and protected with a matte clear varnish sealant. The arrangement of the individual elements creates an organic, vertically oriented figure whose abstracted form is reminiscent of the human body and allows the viewer to oscillate between fragility and strength.
The light linden wood base provides a calm,… contrasting counterpoint. Finished with Scandic Oil, the wood's natural appearance is preserved and protected from yellowing, giving the sculpture a timeless, clean aesthetic.
