About this artwork
I created this piece, A Masked Man, using acrylic colors and color pencil on paper. The painting depicts the complexity of the life of a solitary man, who determined to live happily under the veil of secrecy. Although he used a mask to hide his identity, his eyes betrayed him, allowing others to pierce the wall of his secrets through the flow of his emotions. Due to the elegance and the artistic expresion of his mask, anyone can see both a landscape…
of strength and vulnerability. Hence, sooner or later, an enigma is likely to unravel. As I was engaged in this drawing, I borrowed the pen of a writer to describe the piece without writing a single word. However, I whispered each sentence as I put the colors on this paper. Beside his sophisticated mask, his tailored suit expressed his very ambition for wealth and power. The city where he stands translates his doubted path. So, the question: Is the Masked Man an angel protecting the city or simply an audacious villain? To you to answer it.
