About this artwork
Discovering beauty in the simple things. The glass is slightly off-center. It supports the verticality of the portrait format. The toothpaste tube creates space and leads into the depth of the picture. Two toothbrushes protrude almost at right angles to this and create tension as another diagonal. Two toothbrushes also indicate a relationship dynamic: some couples have even argued in the past over the use of the toothpaste tube - rolling it up or… squeezing it uncontrollably. For me, however, this painting is a symbol of affection, intimacy, love.
Wolfgang Eberhardt, a passionate painter, discovered his artistic talent through emotional experiences. His figurative works are created through careful use of charcoal, color pigments and binding agents, creating images full of magic and impulse. His art is a bridge of communication, with the aim of reaching the viewer deeply and triggering emotion. With love as his strongest force, he always strives to express true human feelings through his art.
