In "Barcelona," the canvas reflects the shifting nature of memory and the quiet lives our places continue to lead without us. Painted from a photograph taken during a journey that was once meant to be remembered with joy, the work became something different as time reshaped its meaning. The street itself never changed. The light, the architecture, and the warmth of the city remained untouched, while the memories attached to them slowly transformed.…
What began as a keepsake became a reminder, and eventually an invitation to let go. The piece explores the gentle act of separating a place from the story we once assigned to it, allowing beauty to exist beyond the people who first brought us there. It invites the viewer to consider that some memories are not erased when we move on. They are simply returned to the world, ready to belong to someone else.
