About this artwork
This piece was born from a moment of pure internal conflict - a collision of rage at injustice, exhaustion from carrying too much, and the echo of my own inner voice questioning everything. Am I hysterical or justified? Should I fight back, give in, defend myself, collapse, shout along, or finally offer myself the tenderness I have always longed for? It is the story of that inner cacophony, of being both the one who screams and the one who listens.

Babette Hinterleitner is a self-taught painter, printmaker, digital and visual artist, drawing inspiration from her lifelong passion and self-directed studies. Her technique fuses the energetic storytelling of comics and manga with Alphonse Mucha’s fluid compositions and the minimalistic expressiveness of Chinese and Japanese ink styles. In her works, she explores unspoken emotions such as sadness, longing, and hope, creating visual narratives that invite viewers to feel seen, understood, and uplifted.
