About this artwork
I named this work "Indomitable" because the model's confident pose suggested it to me.
The dark patina, while nuanced between blue and green, accentuates the impression of strength that emanates from it.
I really enjoyed working with this model, whose poses always had a great sense of poise.

Chantal Molinié uses sculpture, drawing, and wood and stone carving, enriched by her training at Cornell College of Art and workshops in Nantes. She sculpts nudes and busts from live models by applying flattened balls of clay, leaving the surface unsmoothed, to capture the vibrancy of life. Her expressive, vibrant style captures the ephemeral and fragile beauty of humankind. Her works convey a profound desire to preserve and celebrate existence in the face of oblivion and death.
She devoted the year 2025 to the creation of the catalogue raisonné of her sculpted works, which was published in December by Éditions du Livre d'art.
