This completely natural pose that the model offered, with her gaze not fixed on anything in particular but directed towards a point located on the horizon, allowed me to name this sculpture "Distant Dream".
The deliberately light patina adds softness to its expression and the non-smooth surface allows for contrasting effects of shadow and light.

Chantal Molinié uses sculpture, drawing, and wood and stone carving, enriched by her training at Cornell College of Art and workshops in Nantes. She sculpts nudes and busts from live models by applying flattened balls of clay, leaving the surface unsmoothed, to capture the vibrancy of life. Her expressive, vibrant style captures the ephemeral and fragile beauty of humankind. Her works convey a profound desire to preserve and celebrate existence in the face of oblivion and death.
She devoted the year 2025 to the creation of the catalogue raisonné of her sculpted works, which was published in December by Éditions du Livre d'art.
