About this artwork
This model, perched on a large stool, appears immobilized during the pose and seems to take advantage of it to delve into himself, which allowed me to give the title "Little Introspection" to this work.
The light patina in hazelnut tones highlights its non-smooth finish which, for me, reflects the life of this young woman beyond this forced immobility.

Chantal Molinié uses sculpture, drawing, and wood and stone carving, enriched by her training at Cornell College of Art and workshops in Nantes. She sculpts nudes and busts from live models by applying flattened balls of clay, leaving the surface unsmoothed, to capture the vibrancy of life. Her expressive, vibrant style captures the ephemeral and fragile beauty of humankind. Her works convey a profound desire to preserve and celebrate existence in the face of oblivion and death.
She devoted the year 2025 to the creation of the catalogue raisonné of her sculpted works, which was published in December by Éditions du Livre d'art.
