About this artwork
In Detachment, I examine the fragile boundary between presence and dissolution, portraying the human figure as something unstable, constantly shifting between form and disappearance. Rather than presenting the body as complete, I explore transformation as a state of emotional and psychological transition.
The fragmented anatomy and fluid, almost evaporating gestures suggest a loss of fixed identity, where physical structure gives way to memory,… vulnerability, and subconscious experience. The pale palette reinforces a sense of impermanence, creating an atmosphere suspended between reality and dream.
This work reflects on the tension between holding oneself together and surrendering to inevitable change. Detachment invites the viewer to consider identity not as something permanent, but as a fluid condition shaped by time, emotion, and continuous transformation.

Denys Molerio is a Cuban painter with a strong academic background, working primarily in figurative painting to investigate identity and human nature. He masterfully combines realism, symbolism, and subtle surrealist touches, using layered compositions and muted palettes to create atmospheres charged with introspection. His work evokes emotional depth, highlighting vulnerability, alienation, and the invisible battles within the human psyche, inspiring viewers to explore the complexities beneath the surface of self.
Graduated with honors from San Alejandro Academy of Fine Arts and Institute Superior of Arts (ISA) in Havana. A member of the Cuban National Union of Visual Artists. Participant in the international (X and XI) Biennale in Havana with his own exhibitions “ Arquitectura de la Vida” in 2009 and personal show “ Habits” in 2012. Many national and international exhibitions; e.g “Living room of Southeast “ Lyon, France in the “Gallery Maison Dauphins” Lyon, France.
