About this artwork
I am not interested in portraiture as a faithful representation of a face. I seek what remains invisible—silence, memory, and the traces of experience we all carry within us. The luminous, almost translucent palette allows me to move beyond physical appearance and focus instead on emotion and the inner light of the human spirit. The subtle organic forms are not decorative elements; they symbolize transformation, fragility, and the continuous process…
through which identity is shaped. I hope the viewer will pause before this painting long enough to discover personal questions rather than ready-made answers. For me, painting is a space for contemplation, where beauty becomes a language capable of expressing what words cannot.

Denys Molerio is a Cuban painter with a strong academic background, working primarily in figurative painting to investigate identity and human nature. He masterfully combines realism, symbolism, and subtle surrealist touches, using layered compositions and muted palettes to create atmospheres charged with introspection. His work evokes emotional depth, highlighting vulnerability, alienation, and the invisible battles within the human psyche, inspiring viewers to explore the complexities beneath the surface of self.
Graduated with honors from San Alejandro Academy of Fine Arts and Institute Superior of Arts (ISA) in Havana. A member of the Cuban National Union of Visual Artists. Participant in the international (X and XI) Biennale in Havana with his own exhibitions “ Arquitectura de la Vida” in 2009 and personal show “ Habits” in 2012. Many national and international exhibitions; e.g “Living room of Southeast “ Lyon, France in the “Gallery Maison Dauphins” Lyon, France.
