About this artwork
In Something Worth Keeping I explore a silent state of value.
I work with restraint, light and open spaces to create a space that doesn't explain, but receives.
The bright surface bears traces of movement and time, without being defined. For me, the image represents a moment before the event – the quiet awareness that something precious exists even before it can be named.
I understand this work as an invitation to pause. It's about paying attention,… about preserving something delicate that is easily overlooked.
I am not interested here in what is loud or obvious, but in what remains when everything superfluous is removed.

Ingeborg Ludwig, with a solid background in art, primarily uses encaustic, a hot wax technique, and acrylic painting. Her style is process-oriented, abstract, and strongly material-based, characterized by calming organic forms, seamless transitions, and multi-layered surfaces. Her artworks explore the invisible world of emotions and inner landscapes, inviting the viewer on an introspective journey to free themselves from the hustle and bustle of the external world. She addresses realms of change and resonance in a quiet, intuitive way to convey deep, moving emotional states.
