About this artwork
In the dry winter bush of Cullinan, something descends. In "Totem", the symmetry of interlocking branches and pale trunks resolves into a vertical presence — a figure dropping from above, or rising from below, depending on what the observer is willing to see. The fallen branch at its base functions as threshold, as offering, as altar. The golden grass burns quietly around it. This is not a comfortable image. It was not… meant to be. The landscape here does not reassure. It simply reveals what was always standing in it.
Printed as a limited edition fine art giclée on Hahnemühle Photo Rag Baryta 315gsm.
