In the dense bushveld of Cullinan, a pale figure stands. In "Sanctum", two lichen-marked trunks resolve into a single upright presence- rooted, composed, neither moving nor inviting movement. The lush green of the surrounding bush frames it without containing it. This is not a threshold to pass through. This is a place to stop. The inherent symmetry of the landscape has produced something that commands stillness in the… observer - an ancient figure that was always standing here, in this spot, long before anyone thought to look.
