From the Forms Beneath series
A narrow passage between rock walls in the Spitzkoppe massif, Namibia. A single boulder sitting in the sand. A bare tree arching overhead in the shade.
Then the fold.
The passage became a chamber. The boulder, centred by the symmetry, became an altar stone. The tree above it spread like a canopy — or like arms raised in ceremony. Nothing was invented. Nothing was arranged. Whatever had been worshipped here, the rock… already knew about it.
This is what Forms Beneath is about. Not invention. Discovery. The forms were always there — hidden, as if deliberately, for the reward of a different kind of looking.
