“MyDeer” was taken during a summer day in Budapest’s City Park. The new Ethnographic Museum, with its unusual lines, nestles among the old trees. In the picture, the building appears like a heavy body gliding into the landscape.
The tree in the foreground offers a counterpoint. Its bark forms a natural contrast to the technical surface of the museum. It is precisely there that the creases in the paper gather. The trunk thus becomes the focal point… of the movement. It appears tangible and full of power.
At the moment the photograph was taken, a light breeze was blowing and the grasses were moving rhythmically. The subsequent manipulation of the colors, the treatment of the paper, and the reworking with richly applied acrylic paints allow this memory to live on.
“MyDeer” combines nature and architecture. Stillness and dynamism. Reality and reinterpretation. The work depicts a place that already exists and a mood that is newly created through the layering of materials.
Jürgen Rosmarion is a talented goldsmith and jewelry designer who also brings his expertise to painting and photography. He combines spontaneous photographs with painted canvas works through a mixed media technique characterized by the deliberate incorporation of paper folds. His vibrant color palette and dynamic brushstrokes are reminiscent of the 'new Fauves' movement. His artworks convey a sense of exploration by reflecting vibrant, personal travel memories and the experience of unexpected materials and techniques.
