About this artwork
This image is of the wooden supports of a fishing hut in the West of France. I learned that the fishing hut is an ancient style of fishing where a net is lowered and left in the water, and after a while it's raised to see what's been caught. Often the answer is nothing at all!
The state of the nets suggest that fishing is a relatively low priority for the sheds and I saw groups of men chatting smoking and enjoying a bottle of wine. My suspicion is… that its more of a 'man cave' than a fishing hut. This image has been printed on silk as a scarf which is very popular. Being black and white it goes with any outfit
Kate Lloyd is a photographer trained under acclaimed artists, most notably Jonathan Chritchley of Ocean Capture. She employs abstract and verismo styles, using multiple exposures to transform images of horses, water, and Venetian scenes into vibrant compositions, often presented as acrylics or luxury silk scarves. Her work radiates a profound appreciation for the untamed spirit of horses and the luminous mystery of water, evoking both tranquility and wonder.
