Output 8 belongs to the Smear Board series and is based on a pre-prepared order that is altered during a very rapid painting process. The preparation takes significantly longer than the actual painting. Once the process begins, only a few minutes remain for decisions and reactions.
Violet, green, turquoise, red, orange, and pink form a dense structure of vertical color traces and superimposed fields. The original structure remains recognizable… in places, but is disrupted by overlays, blurring, and spontaneous movements.
The title "Output" adopts the logic of digital systems: input, processing, result. Applied to painting, this creates an analog process in which material, speed, and movement all contribute to the outcome.
