Amy is a figure I deeply admire. Although I've never met her personally, after painting her many times and immersing myself in films, articles, and documentaries, I feel I've come to know her intimately, enough to fall in love with her presence and the impact she left.
Every time I portray her, I connect with what resonates in me about her spirit, seeking to translate those emotions into a pure and direct visual language.
I'm not interested in… working from a predetermined conceptual framework: my art is born from immediacy. I don't aim to convey a message, only to give shape to what I feel in that moment as the pigment flows onto the canvas.
This portrait of Amy is precisely that: a spontaneous act of connection, a fleeting emotion transformed into an image. Perhaps the most honest way to pay tribute to her: not with rigid ideas, but with an authentic encounter between artist, subject, and moment.
