About this artwork
In my artwork I capture the play of light and shadow to show the beauty of nature in its raw, untouched form. This analogue black and white photography was born out of my passion for the contrast between strength and fragility. The texture and pattern in the background bring out the individuality of each element. This image is intended to provide the viewer with a space of reflection and bring a deep, calm energy into their home.

Paul Gross’ photographs have been extensively exhibited in both Germany and Japan. Within his art, he explores and expands the limits of classic photography. The relationship between photography and object plays an important role in all of Gross’ work. Using various techniques and equipment, including movement and exposure time, objects in his pieces can appear abstract and bizarre. Thereby the object loses its function as a “memory aid”, blurring the definition and limitations of the medium.
